Colin Egglesfield Beats Cancer
Colin Egglesfield, known for his role as Josh Madden on All My Children, has revealed he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in early 2025. Now in his early 50s, the actor is officially cancer-free following successful surgery and has begun sharing messages of hope and resilience with fans and followers.
Egglesfield confirmed his diagnosis in a heartfelt social media post in February 2025, just days after doctors gave him the all-clear. He explained that the cancer was detected early during a routine checkup, and after further testing, his medical team advised surgery. The procedure was successful, and he required no further treatment.

“I’m grateful they caught it early,” Egglesfield wrote. “This experience has changed how I view my health, my purpose, and how precious every day truly is.”
The actor, who has appeared in both television dramas and feature films, says the cancer scare gave him time to reflect on his life and priorities. While the diagnosis came as a shock, he said it pushed him to focus on self-care, mindfulness, and gratitude. He credited his support system—including friends, family, and medical staff—for helping him through recovery.
Born in Michigan and raised in Illinois, Egglesfield first gained widespread recognition on the daytime soap All My Children. He went on to star in series like Melrose Place, Rizzoli & Isles, and The Client List. He also appeared in the romantic comedy film Something Borrowed alongside Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin.
In recent years, Egglesfield has become known for his motivational speaking, life coaching, and his 2019 book Agile Artist, which shares personal stories about overcoming fear, failure, and uncertainty. His recent health journey has further deepened his focus on helping others.
Now cancer-free, Egglesfield is using his platform to encourage regular health screenings, especially for men over 40. “If something feels off, get it checked. Don’t delay. Early detection truly saves lives,” he stated.

He also continues to promote a message of resilience and positive mindset. In his recovery updates, he often emphasizes the importance of staying mentally strong and living with intention. “Challenges are part of life,” he said. “But how we respond to them defines who we are.”
Egglesfield plans to return to acting later in 2025 but says he will also focus more on public speaking and coaching. He is developing workshops and podcasts centered on wellness, mindset, and overcoming adversity. He hopes his story will inspire others to face their own health or personal struggles with courage and clarity.
Fans and colleagues have expressed support and relief at his recovery. Many have thanked him for being open and honest about his diagnosis and treatment, calling his attitude both uplifting and empowering.
Colin Egglesfield continues to lead with optimism, sharing his journey to remind others that strength often comes from life’s most difficult moments. His message is simple but powerful: stay aware, stay positive, and keep moving forward.
